Scheme Details In Depth
Blockchain India Challenge is a national startup program for Indian innovators to build permissioned, non-crypto blockchain/Web3 solutions for real digital-governance use cases.
It offers stage-wise, non-dilutive support to help teams move from an idea to a pilot-ready deployment through four rounds: Ideation → Prototype/PoC → MVP → Deployment.
Prize support increases at each stage:
Prototype stage: ₹1.5 lakh each for up to 40 teams
MVP stage: ₹4 lakh each for up to 30 teams
Deployment stage: ₹10 lakh each for up to 20 teams
Final winners: ₹50 lakh each across 10 use-case categories (total prize pool: ₹8.80 crore)
The challenge focuses on solutions that improve trust, transparency, auditability, and efficiency in public services, and encourages startups to work with relevant government departments for real-world implementation and deployment.
