The Google for Startups Accelerator: India – AI-First 2026 is a three‑month, equity‑free accelerator for AI‑first startups between Seed and Series A, headquartered in India. The program supports founders who are building core AI products, including agentic, multimodal, and other advanced generative AI solutions, or specialized sovereign AI models.

Program Overview

This cohort blends virtual and in‑person engagement, kicking off with a one‑week in‑person bootcamp in Bengaluru and continuing with remote sprints, 1:1 deep‑dives, and group sessions from June to September 2026. Startups receive tailored mentorship from experts across Google, including teams from Google DeepMind, Cloud, Android, and other product groups.

What this Accelerator Offers

Equity‑free support for 10–15 AI‑first startups selected from across India.
Technical mentorship on AI/ML, GenAI (Gemini, Gemma, Imagen, Veo, Lyria), scalable architectures, and data infrastructure.
Product & growth coaching covering UX, product strategy, go‑to‑market, and leadership.
Cloud & product benefits, including potential Google Cloud credits (subject to separate eligibility) and access to AI tooling.
Community & visibility via global Google for Startups networks and alumni storytelling platforms.

Purpose and Impact

The program aims to accelerate AI‑first founders solving large‑scale, real‑world problems in areas like agentic AI, multimodal AI, physical AI, and sovereign AI, aligned with India’s broader digital and AI missions. Previous AI‑First cohorts have supported 20 startups selected from over 1,000+ applications, demonstrating strong demand and ecosystem impact.

Eligibility

1. Startup must be headquartered or based in India.
2. AI‑first product: using AI/ML at the core of the solution (including generative, agentic, multimodal, or foundational models).
3. Stage: ideally between Seed and Series A, with some customer validation and market traction (post‑idea stage).
4. Building a scalable product or service with a large addressable market and defensible growth model.
5. Strong technical team, with founders and core members capable of leveraging advanced AI and cloud technologies.
6. Willingness of founders to commit time to a three‑month structured program (mix of in‑person and virtual).
7. Must align with responsible AI principles and be open to guidance on human‑centered, safe AI practices.
